Business Continuity

Michigan Tech provides a safe, secure IT environment to serve its customers requirements, ensure stability and continuity of the business, and promote confidence in its ability to not only continuously provide goods and/or services, but also to recover quickly from disaster and minimize disruption.

Business Impact Analysis

An evaluation of system(s) is first needed to determine the critical functions performed by the system and to identify the specific system resources required to perform them. Once you have identified your systems, determine the impact(s) on IT operations if a given resource were disrupted or damaged. Lastly, develop recovery priorities for the system resources.

A high-, medium-, low-scale should be used to prioritize the resources. High priorities are based on the need to restore critical resources within their allowable outage times; medium and low priorities reflect the requirement to restore full operational capabilities over a longer recovery period.

Disaster Recovery Plan

A disaster recovery plan can be defined as the ongoing process of planning, developing and implementing disaster recovery management procedures and processes to ensure the efficient and effective resumption of critical functions in the event of an unscheduled interruption.
