Security Awareness Training

General Course Setup and Time to Take

The training is meant to be convenient and is Internet-based so you can complete it from any computer.  The training is comprised of a set of videos, PowerPoint slides, and various links to relevant University policies/procedures as well as compliance sites.  The PowerPoint slides are intended to provide a written summary of the concepts included within the video so you can view one or the other, or both.

You can also start and stop the training as your schedule permits because it is not time–dependent.   On average the "General" training course will take you 45 minutes to complete, while the other training modules will take you less than 5 minutes.

Course Completion

At the end of the "General" training, you will be asked to confirm that you have completed the training program and understand your role in regards to information security as referenced in the Confidentiality Agreement on the left hand navigation.  You do not need to do this for any other training courseYou should receive a grade of “pass” when you click “true”.

We have been experiencing some issues with the grade not recording in blackboard, if you have completed the training and you do not have a grade of “pass”, please email isbr@mtu.edu
